Chinese Fire Cupping

Cupping is a traditional Chinese Therapy used to treat illnesses and imbalances for over 2500 years. It is a safe way to naturally reduce Joint and Muscle pain.

It’s deeply relaxing, incredible for overall health and akin to having Deep Tissue Massage in half the time.

Fire Cupping promotes wellness in 4 major ways:

~ Clears dampness from the body

~ Reduces pain and swelling

~ Rids body of any generally toxic elements

~ Warms the body and allows Qi (vital energy or life force) and blood to flow freely

How Does it work?

Practitioners such as myself use glass cups and a tool to insert a lit cotton ball into the base of a cup thereby creating a vacuum.  The cup is then immediately placed on the client.

Massive amounts of much needed blood and oxygen and nutrients are flooded to that body part due to the negative pressure created.  Toxins and inflammation are also dispersed by bringing them to the surface for release.

During your treatment 5-10 cups varying in size will be placed on areas of stagnation such as stiff muscles.  I apply massage oil prior to the cupping which allows me to move and glide the cups after they have been left to do their work.  This action causes a sense of deep relaxation and peace.

Receiving a 30 minute cupping treatment is equivalent to receiving a 1 hour deep tissue massage.

Following the treatment you will have marks left called an Echymosis.  This is NOT a bruise; it simply a pooling of blood that was drawn to the surface.  They should disappear completely in 5-7 days.

“Where there is stagnation, the will be pain.  Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain.”
