Are You A Lightworker? How Do You Tell?
Are you a Lightworker? Is it possible you are but haven’t fully realized yet?
I think we should start with “OK, what exactly is a LIGHTWORKER?
The simplest way to describe lightworkers would be as beings who feel an enormous pull towards helping others.
Also referred to as crystal babies, indigos, Earth angels and star seeds, these spiritual beings volunteer to act as a beacon for the Earth, and commit to serving humanity.
Before we ALL incarnated to Earth we chose to learn certain “soul lessons’ in this lifetime; our own personal mission for growth. Maybe it was to learn compassion, forgiveness, setting boundaries, healing addiction, etc.
You are a soul having this human experience after all!
On top of a personal mission though, some of us accepted a GLOBAL mission as well to help move the human race forward and raise the vibration of the planet.
You are here to help raise the vibration of the earth and assist in the shift into higher consciousness.
In the past, humans have not always been kind to the planet. We have torn down forests, killed billions of animals, fought in wars against our own kind, poisoned the environment all for our own gain.
Lightworker souls saw the destruction and devastation humans were causing. So, they chose to incarnate as humans to help guide us back to love and light. Millions of Lightworkers are now on the planet helping to transmute the darkness into light.
Lightworkers are at the leading edge today to transform human consciousness. They have always been here, coming in “waves” throughout time and over many lifetimes.
Once a Lightworker, ALWAYS a Lightworker.
Often it takes time for someone to realize they are a Lightworker (I know it did for me) But it will happen….More and more are “waking up” and embracing their powerful light and without even trying.
It’s realizing their own clear, pure energy is positively affecting others and allowing them to also connect to the Divine source of pure Love and Light. How beautiful is that?
As a Lightworker, you were incarnated with an energy matrix; much like a caterpillar is and then transforms into a butterfly.
Just like the caterpillar going through it’s transformation, many Lightworkers experience turmoil in their own lives as they begin to change; shedding the old and becoming more beautiful. By experiencing loss and heartache and other “unpleasantness”, we are then able to help others see the shadow side of themselves and help heal it.
Here are some tell-tale signs of a Lightworker
#1 You really do love helping people any way you can.
Lightworkers love to help people. Since the purpose of a lightworker is to bring light and love to the world, lightworkers love helping others. Whether in big ways or small ways like opening a door for someone, lightworkers enjoy assisting other people.
#2. People feel comfortable talking to you and often ask for your advice
If you’re a lightworker, you may find that people find it easy to talk to you and often ask for your advice. This happens because, on a subconscious level, other people can sense your light energy and are attracted to it.
Unfortunately, this also means that you may attract ‘broken’ people into your life who will try and ‘suck’ the positive energy from you. To combat this, always make sure you protect your energy and don’t let others take advantage of you.
#3. You work or want to work in some kind of healing profession
Many lightworkers feel the pull to work in some kind of healing profession. They came here to help spread love and light which can be done through healing. Some examples of healing professions that some lightworkers are attracted to are:
- Doctors, Nurses, Midwives & other kinds of Health Care Professionals
- Reiki Masters
- Chiropractors or any other type of alternative healing
- Psychologists & Therapists
- Herbalists
- Shamans
- Etc
#4. You’re highly intuitive/Psychic
Lightworkers are often highly intuitive psychic people, and many may not yet realize how powerful their gifts are. If you often have gut feelings about people or situations, then you are likely psychic.
Good at reading energy, lightworkers can use their intuitive powers to help bring love and light to the planet.
#5. You enjoy spending time alone
Lightworkers love to help people and consequently can deplete their energy by doing so. Spending time alone, especially following a lot of interaction with people is necessary for lightworkers to recharge.
Therefore, lightworkers often enjoy time alone and can feel overwhelmed if they don’t get their alone time. (and of course learning NOT to feel guilty for needing said alone time 😉
#6. You know you have a strong purpose (even if you don’t know what it is yet)
As discussed, every lightworker has their own specific mission or purpose on earth. You may be lucky enough to know your purpose from an early age. However, you may have no idea what you want to do with your life yet.
Either way, lightworkers have a strong sense that they are here for some purpose, even if they don’t know what it is yet. This point ties in with being psychic because it’s your intuition that is telling you that you are here for a specific purpose.
#7 Lightworkers are Empaths
You’ve probably heard the term ‘Empath’ before and most (if not all) lightworkers are empaths. An empath is someone who can feel the emotions of other people. They are very tuned in to the energy around them (even if they don’t know it!)
It is a necessary trait of a lightworker to be empathic as it better allows them to understand and help other people.

In case you still aren’t convinced that you are a Lightworker, one HUGE sign that you indeed is that you clicked on this blog!
If you weren’t, chances are pretty good, this wouldn’t interest you at all.
So what now what?
Many times lightworkers I have met are stuck asking themselves WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?
And it’s VERY simple…… You work on BE-ing more of you at a high vibration
So that involves doing the things that light YOU up, shielding yourself from negativity as much as possible and filling your cup back up every day.
Think of yourself as a pebble being dropped into a still pond. You, like the pebble, create ripples and your energy is felt throughout the Universe.
My favourite thing in my business is teaching and attuning people in Reiki. I truly feel that with each new student, we are creating a MASSIVE ripple of positive, high vibe energy that is pushing back all this dense, negative energy on this planet. We are creating our own group of Peaceful Warriors in this corner of the world. 🙂
The bottom line is, if you are a lightworker, you are already doing your job whether you realize it or not, just by being the type of person that you are. The more people incarnate here on this planet who want to help raise the vibration of the planet, in whatever way works best for them, the higher the overall consciousness raises.
The more the consciousness raises, the more positive energies and emotions can flow throughout the planet and the better life on earth will be.
Together we can heal our souls. Together we can heal others. Together we can heal the whole world.

Already in my practice I’ve met (or been sent) clients who have discovered they are lightworkers and many seem shocked. As I was too. A couple of my Reiki students have also found me and they too are Lightworkers. I just LOVE how the universe works!!
It’s time to EMBRACE who you truly are. Some people will think you’re absolutely bonkers saying you are a lightworker, or talk to angels, or “see dead people’ or any type of “New Age” stuff which is in actual fact extremely old stuff we are now only rediscovering and REMEMBERING.
Together we can heal our souls. Together we can heal others. Together we can heal the whole world.
